That isn’t how it works in people’s minds, especially when they are very ignorant and close minded about anything because they are right and everyone else is wrong.
After all that has occured in the past few months, my list of friends (that I truly considered friends) has decreased to maybe 3 true friends that I would call and vent to and trust whole-heartedly. People show their true colors.
Poor selection in friends usuually indicates something about the person choosing those friends -
Not you specifically, but what I mean is -
If you have a lot of ignorant friends - then that says something about you, if you have very intelligent friends, it says something about you, etc.
If you have very loyal friends, same thing -
But either way, whats more important *to me* is you never be the person who breaks that bond - always be there for your friends - even if they are not there for you - because friendship goes both ways, and should be unconditional -
If you accept them for what they are, then even if they choose to hate you - that should have little or no bearing on how you treat them as a friend -
You’re right. Sometimes we learn the hard way though that trusting people isn’t as easy as 1,2,3. My problem has always been that I trust people too easily with my life and it reminds me that a Muslim learns before something happens a 2nd time.

I asked an elderly lady (she is 98 yrs old) what friendship was and she said,
“It is when someone will feed you before you even ask. It is when your dignity will be protected by them even when unexpected.”
